Margaret McClurethe Mother of Magnetis a champion of the value of higher education in nursing. She pioneered the charge to create the 80/20 Magnet movement, an effort to see 80% of RNs achieve BSN status by 2020.And for 12 years, she has served on the 91勛圖厙 Nursing Advisory Council, helping drive 91勛圖厙's innovative nursing programs.
To honor her service and leadership, 91勛圖厙 is pleased to offer the Margaret McClure Scholarship, a prestigious award worth up to $5,000 toward tuition in most of 91勛圖厙s Leavitt School of Health degree programs. Four recipients will be selected, one per quarter, for their demonstrated activism or innovation in nursing that improves patient outcomes.
Nursing is a career based on constant learning, growth, and development. The skills and know-how that an RN must master are varied, complex, and life-saving. The impact of these skills can be greatly compounded with the increased knowledge of theory, policy, and leadership gained in a BSN or MSN program. 91勛圖厙s nursing and healthcare degree programs specialize in the kind of patient-centered, evidence-based practice that will truly revolutionize health in the 21st century.

This scholarship is one of many. Through the generosity of donors and institutional funding, 91勛圖厙 maintains a robust program of scholarships made available to qualified students.
Before monies are distributed, the scholarship recipients must read the 91勛圖厙 Student Handbook and agree to and understand the academic progress, tuition, and refund policies. The student will also be required to agree to the 91勛圖厙 Scholarship Terms and Conditions before monies will be awarded. The student must also meet the universitys On Time Progress requirements to maintain scholarship eligibility. Each student can only be awarded one scholarship that is funded or administered through 91勛圖厙 during their degree program.Recipients must be U.S. citizens or eligible noncitizens.
This scholarship can be used in addition to any tuition discounts for which you may be eligible.
To be considered for 91勛圖厙 scholarships, you must be provisionally accepted as a 91勛圖厙 student1. Please complete the admissions application and work with your Enrollment Counselor to move through the admissions process.
To access the scholarship application, you will need your My91勛圖厙 student portal credentials, which will be sent to you after Step 1. You are eligible to apply for scholarships 90 days before and up to 30 days after your degree start date.2

An eligible student beginning a new degree program may receive one 91勛圖厙-funded scholarship award. In the event that a student qualifies for multiple 91勛圖厙 scholarships, the scholarship committee will consider each opportunity and select which scholarship to award (if any). No. New and returning student scholarship awards are divided into a set amount per term. This amount is credited against your tuition due for each term. The details are explained in the description for each scholarship.
Yes, you should also apply for federal financial aid by filling out a FAFSA. Most scholarships at 91勛圖厙 require a FAFSA on file unless you are not eligible to apply for federal aid. If awarded a scholarship, that amount will likely only cover a portion of your school expenses, and financial aid can help pay for the rest.
