Dr. Dery聽joined Western Governors University鈥檚 School of Technology as the VP &聽Dean of Data Analytics, Computer Science, and Software Engineering in August 2022. At 91吃瓜网,聽Joe聽is working to help students learn how to 鈥渆ffect鈥� change in their professional roles 鈥撀�surgically balancing a combination of mathematics, data management, programming, and business influence skills. Prior to joining academia full-time,聽Joe聽spent much of his corporate career working for EMC 鈥� and later, Dell Technologies 鈥� where he joined as a "hands-on-keyboard" Data Scientist in 2011.聽He聽went on to hold leadership positions in Dell鈥檚 Sales, Finance, and Supply Chain organizations driving efforts in Data Science, Business Intelligence, Digital Strategy, and Digital Transformation. Across these domains,聽Joe鈥檚 efforts touched a wide variety of business problems, including ML-driven sales quota allocations, sales forecasting & opportunity prioritization, customer cross-sell/whitespace targeting, addressable marketing opportunity sizing, sales territory optimization, supply chain planning optimization, data/analytics fluency training, digital twins, and self-service BI. Building from his experiences,聽Joe聽is often invited to speak on the crucial role of decision intelligence frameworks, change management, and 鈥渋mprov鈥� in bringing data-derived solutions to life.聽Joe聽holds a PhD in Business Analytics & an MS in Marketing Analytics, both from Bentley University.
